About Mooi Toll Plaza

The KwaZulu-Natal Midlands around Mooi River are known for their rolling green hills, dairy farming, and craft industries — a contrast to the highveld grasslands crossed earlier on the N3. This section of the N3 passes through the agricultural heartland of KZN before the road climbs Polly Shortts Hill and then drops steeply into Pietermaritzburg. The Mooi Plaza marks the end of the N3TC concession section — the final Mariannhill plaza, just outside Durban, is operated separately by SANRAL. A north ramp (R21) and south ramp (R49) at Mooi apply to vehicles using the Mooi River interchange exits only.
